Mobile Library

Kent County Council offers a mobile library service for small villages like Stourmouth, where a selection of up to 1,800 books and audio items come directly to you every fortnight.  If you are already a KCC library member, you can use the mobile library, or you can simply join on your first visit.  You may borrow up to 12 items and keep them for up to one month – fines are not charged on items returned late, but you are asked to renew your borrowed items.  If a reminder is sent to you saying an item is overdue, you will be asked to pay for the cost of the postage.  Mobile libraries carry a wide range of:

  • fiction
  • children's books
  • talking books
  • merchandise
  • non-fiction
  • large print books
  • films
  • information

If there is something specific you want but isn't available on the bus, you can ask a member of staff to order it in for you.  A small charge may be made for some items.

The mobile library visits Stourmouth every other Tuesday and stops in the car park of The Rising Sun.  It arrives at 3.30pm and leaves at 4pm.  The dates for 2014 are as follows:

  • July 15th, 29th
  • August 12th, 26th
  • September 9th, 23rd
  • October 7th, 21st
  • November 4th, 18th
